UEA MARSHALL SCHOLARSHIPS

This Scholarship is for Graduate Study in any subject at either Masters or Doctoral level at the University of East Anglia and will be for two years (with a possibility of a third year for doctoral studies). If awarded a Courtauld Marshall Scholarship candidates would be expected to study at the University of East Anglia.

The University of East Anglia provides a research-rich teaching environment on a safe and friendly campus situated just two miles from the centre of the historic city of Norwich. With interdisciplinarity firmly embedded in the University's ethos research opportunities bring academic colleagues from different subject areas together to create leading-edge research groups.

The University of East Anglia has:

  • eleven research units graded 5, 5* or double 5* in the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE)
  • 89% of academic staff submitted to the RAE working in units rated as being nationally or internationally excellent
  • been ranked third best for student satisfaction amongst traditional universities in the first National Student Survey (2005)
  • externally funded research projects are worth around £85m a year.

Around one quarter of the University's 13000 students are postgraduates and all new international postgraduates are guaranteed accommodation in their first year. Some 2000 students come from outside the UK and help create a vibrant and culturally diverse community. They enjoy outstanding academic and social facilities including a £17.6m Sports park with international standard swimming pool and the world renowned Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.
